TITAN Wine & Spirits Hires Allen Balik To Search For Next Wine Brand Superstar

TITAN Wine & Spirits has recruited the unparalleled wine consulting expertise of Allen Balik. The endeavor is pioneered by parent company TGIC Importers, Inc. The goal is to pair exclusive, premium, domestic brands with California distribution-company, TITAN Wine & Spirits and TGIC’s National Sales & Marketing arm.

“TGIC is an unstoppable machine,” says President/CEO, Alex Guarachi. “The brands we carry shape and power their respective categories. They set the standard,” he adds.

TGIC, which was recently honored with the Wine Enthusiast Importer of the Year Award, is a likely match for wine industry authority Allen Balik. TGIC has gained traction in the last few years particularly, receiving a blitz of accolades recognizing its leadership-status in the wine industry. Coverage concerning the launch of its new distribution company TITAN Wine & Spirits has perpetuated the buzz.

Guarachi has exemplified this progress with the development and launch of California-based TITAN Wine & Spirits. “We are growing our brands at an accelerated level. Therefore TGIC and TITAN are growing too.  The brands we welcome are dynamic, with a sense of identity. They want to go to the next level and require an incredibly well-structured company to take them there,” says Guarachi.

Balik’s role will be to identify those wineries. “All through the thirty-plus years I’ve been involved with wine, I have been privileged to work with and get to know many of the industry’s great people and companies.  I count my relationship with Alex Guarachi and TGIC Importers to be among the best,” says Balik.

Balik is perhaps best known as Founder and Co-Chairman of A Culinary Evening with the California Winemasters – a Wine Spectator Top Ten Charity Wine Auction.

However his recognition as a revered wine-author (Guide to Choosing, Serving and Enjoying Wine), as well as being a columnist for numerous wine publications is harmonized with the notoriety of his consulting business (Club Essence) where he consults with wineries on the development, implementation and execution of their sales, marketing and business-management strategies and programs.

Balik will research and evaluate potential candidates for TITAN and TGIC by size, varietals, existing presence in the market, strength-of -label, geographic diversity, years-in-business, and quality/price-value ratio.
