Bodegas M is the vision and collaboration of Michael Young, Margo Shugart, and Alan Kinne. Michael spent his college years in Spain, where he cut his teeth on the great wines of Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Ever since, while working with such notable wine firms as LVMH, Champagne Louis Roederer, and L’Aventure Winery here in Paso Robles, he has aspired to bring the best possible Spanish styled wines to market. In Bodegas M, he and partner Margo Shugart, who handles the day to day and the “bucks” for the company, aim to express the pleasure to be found in “all things Spanish”. Winemaker/ partner Alan Kinne brings over two decades of winemaking and consulting experience to Bodegas M. A dedicated hispanophile as well, Alan has made over a dozen trips to Spain’s most famous wine fields. His extensive experience and familiarity with Spain and the grape varieties of Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Toro truly endow him with the title of Senor Tempranillo among Paso Robles winemakers.
